What is an AI employee? (And what it costs in the UK)
Short answer: an AI employee is an AI that does a defined job inside your business, connected to your tools, working alongside your people. LuxxStack sets up and runs one for you as a managed AI teammate. It prepares and you approve, and responsibility stays with your business. In the UK, plans start from £295 a month plus a one-off setup from £495, excluding VAT.

Key points
- “AI employee” is a search term. We think of it as a teammate that works alongside people.
- An AI employee is not a legal employee. Your business stays responsible for what it does.
- It is strongest at repetitive, high-volume work, including overnight.
- It cannot meet people, visit sites or make nuanced judgement calls.
- Cost is a monthly plan plus a one-off setup. See the table below.
What an AI employee can do
An AI employee reads what comes in, works out what needs doing and prepares the result. You message it like a colleague, or send a voice note. It is not a chatbot on your website. It sits inside your business.
Typical roles:
| Role | What it does | Who approves |
|---|---|---|
| Admin assistant | Drafts replies in your tone, tracks follow-ups, prepares the morning brief | You |
| Compliance chaser | Tracks expiry dates, chases missing documents, flags gaps | A competent person |
| Bookings coordinator | Matches requests to people who are available and cleared | The coordinator or manager |
| Bookkeeping assistant | Reads receipts and invoices, checks them, queues anything unclear | The accountant |
| Enquiry handler | Brings DMs and form enquiries into one place and asks for missing details | You |
| Reporting assistant | Collects numbers and drafts the report | You |
Who is responsible?
You are. An AI employee has no legal standing, so the business is accountable for what goes out, as it would be for any member of the team. That is why we build it the way we do:
- It prepares and a person approves anything that goes to a client or costs money.
- Every action is logged, so you can see what was done and why.
- Each client’s AI runs on its own private server, in the UK or EU by default.
If the AI handles personal data, UK GDPR applies, and decisions that significantly affect individuals should have a person reviewing them.
What it is not
It does not replace relationships. Top clients, creators and candidates often want to hear from a person, and a good AI teammate flags them for you. It does not make judgement calls on its own either. It sets up the decision and you make it.
An example: we built Bianca for Morgan at EMF Publishing. She works alongside him on a lot of the day to day running of his TikTok Shop business. The revenue is Morgan’s. Bianca takes on the operations around it. Read the project.

For comparison, a full-time admin assistant in the UK typically earns roughly £24k to £30k a year before employer costs. The two do different jobs, and plenty of businesses use both. Our comparison with hiring an assistant goes through where each is stronger.
If you need something bigger than one AI employee, such as several agents or portals, see AI integration, with programmes from £15,000.
How to choose
- Write down the three jobs you would hand over first.
- Check that each one repeats, follows a pattern and can be checked by a person.
- Ask who sets it up, who runs it and what the monthly fee includes.
- Ask where your data is kept.
